MOSQUITO SCHOOL
This past summer I learned about The Mosquito School led by Dr. Morris M. Mosquito and his 7,976 students…. I got caught in the live demonstration part of the mosquito students learning experience (or the Lab Project) out on our patio.
This is what I learned: “Mosquito eggs hatch when submerged in water. Larvae are aquatic and develop into pupae in as little as 5 days. Adult, female mosquitoes lay their eggs on the inner, wet walls of containers with water, above the waterline. Mosquitoes generally lay 100 eggs at a time.” (Statistic from the CDC) Oh, my!
“The protein and iron in the blood they collect is used to make eggs. Otherwise, female mosquitoes, like males, feed on nectar and water. Female mosquitoes collect about three milligrams of blood per bite. And then turn it into 100 eggs…”
So if a person gets 7 bites? Let me see here…that’s enough blood for… hang on, I’m getting it… 7×100= 700 new cute little baby mosquitos. Oh, my, my!
“They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails.” (Revelation 9:10)
I’m headed back over to my side of the pond where I think the Mosquito Abatement people sprayed today.
