THE PRICE OF BEAUTY

Since Roz started putting super high-powered steroids on our plants around the yard we have a lot of big and beautiful flowers and shrubs. The greens are greener and reds are redder, and the purples are purpler.

But here’s what else has happened… when the bugs, bees and spiders get on these plants they too become bigger and stronger. The other day I saw a Ladybug that was the size of a quarter crawling around on a Hibiscus flower that was nine inches in diameter. There were Aphids on the Roses that were as big as a regular sized Ladybug. I saw a common Green Worm on a Cone Flower that looked like a small green snake from eating the foliage of that plant.

I then saw a Bee that was as big as a Hummingbird from getting nectar from the Dianthus… and then I saw a Hummingbird the size of a Mockingbird and drunk on the nectar. While sitting and enjoying the Garden View the other evening I got a Mosquito bite and I slapped and killed the thing and it was the size of a dime and left a knot on my arm as big as an egg.

But Hey, Our Yard is really bright and beautiful. No, really this is what happened.
