INSIDE THE WALLS
Conversion is a process. It works deeper and deeper, like an acid until it has altered our most secret places and our darkest depths. Every wall, every partition, every stone, every reinforcement is met with the wonderful force of love and turned into a wall of strength and security. What used to entrap us and wall us into ourselves has now been turned into a fortress to encompass the presence of God.
He dwells within and without. He has become the same in man as He is in Himself. The prayer of conversion is not talking to God but listening as God speaks to us. He is now within the walls and is speaking from within instead of trying to make entry. The voice of God is an echo when He speaks from outside of us and this is, in general, the failure of all prayer. Prayer brings faith back because we have lowered the bridge and allowed God to cross the mote and live in our castle. The walls are still there but He is inside them. That is conversion brought about by repentance.
Lord, I pray that you would wall me into your presence. Let me always dwell in your love and security.
