BIRD FEEDERS
Are we contributing to an un-natural process when we feed our little feathered friends as we put out sacks of mixed and predetermined birdseed mixes? Or are they supposed to be out getting their own natural seeds, bugs, worms, and other nasty stuff they put into their little bird bellies…?
I know it is not right to feed little hummingbirds the red sugar water… come on…tear down the Tulip Shaped Feeders and let the little miracles go and do natural feeding. The sugar water is just as unhealthy for them as it is for us. Put away that Hummingbird Soda Pop in the name of nature.
We feed at least 6-7 species of little bird people in our back yard where we now live. They do not seem very upset with me that it is perhaps not their normal diet. They gladly peck away at it every day. I think our motive is mixed in feeding the birdies as we want them to have plenty of food but we also want to watch them as they eat and quarrel over the seeds.
I fixed them up some water in a Bird Bath so now they need not explore and search for water. They just need to come here and have food and drink. I also built several Bird Houses for them to build nests and have babies. They can now be dependent on me providing the essentials of food; water and shelter… … or they can fly away tomorrow. They seem OK with it either way.
I better get back over on my side of the pond and brew some Cuban Coffee.
