DOING STUFF

I find it easy to try and do something rather than be something…like receiving what the Father wants to give me. If I can be busy doing stuff… especially ‘God Stuff’ I can convince myself that I am OK and everything else is OK if I am real busy… I rarely need what the Father wants to give me because I am content in my doing. What a religious trap. What a false life. What a deception.
C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) wrote, “Sometimes when you are wondering what God wants you to do, He really wants to give you something.”
If I can be still long enough to listen it is rather simple: the Lord wants to form my character to be like his. No need to do anything until that happens. He really wants to give us something…himself…today and always.
