JOURNEY AND STORY
We very often now hear terms to describe what we (others) are going through as a ‘journey’ or a ‘story.’ What ever happened to just living our life instead of living a journey or story? It just seems that a need for drama, spectacle or sensation is needed when we are only living as normal people. I suppose it is another sign of fear of no identity or significance.
Part of the sadness of our culture is that we may be on a journey that leads to nowhere and we are telling a story that no one wants to hear… or that we cannot tell very well. Then we need Oprah to come along and remind us of mindfulness.
When our life is only about our personal being and the pursuit of self we are left with self-absorption. The transferred life is the journey and story of how we came to belong to Christ and not ourselves.
