VULTURES AND ALTARS
Jesus said in The Sermon on the Mount, “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”
The Vulture will steal the relationship of our brother or sister and if we do not process our anger and forgiveness as the Lord suggests, a Vulture will come and steal our offering from the altar as well. (See yesterday’s Red Mountain Journal, 1 August 2019 on ‘Vultures and Sacrifices’). We are left empty and out of relationship and unable to give an acceptable gift if we harbor anger, resentment and inability to forgive.
Repentance and reconciliation are our only answer.
“First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Jesus
