BEYOND MONEY
Anne Frank (1929-1945) wrote, “No one has ever become poor by giving.”
“The Diary Of A Young Girl” (Diary of Anne Frank) was written by her between the ages of 13-15, before her capture and death (at 15 years old) in a Nazi concentration camp. She certainly was wise beyond her years as her Diary so famously points out.
Beyond the giving of money and the receiving of money I think she was saying in reality that we receive unexpected gains in our lives through generosity. We know this is so because if we thought generosity rested in giving money we would be robotic in our giving and our brains would be washed in law, works and legalism. We become rich by grace and generosity regardless of how much money we give or receive.
“But when you give… do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Jesus
