THY WILL BE DONE

C S Lewis (1898-1963) wrote, “There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” All that are in Hell choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. To those who knock it is opened.”

Self-choice is a difficult way to try explaining that everyone is predetermined and without choice. I simply do not believe that. With free will we decide which side of ‘thy will be done’ will be done.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Jesus
