THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT
The Lord is looking for those who will love Him first: “With all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” God wants a people who will worship Him, love Him, praise Him, glorify Him, exalt Him, lift up His Name, bow to Him, sing to Him, dance with Him, pray to Him, talk to Him, and walk with Him. He wants a people who will gladly give Him unrestricted, unprompted, and uninhibited Worship. The Lord desires our heart felt love, our surrendered single-focused love. He’s probably just about fed up of hearing us talk about His unconditional love for us without hearing about our unconditional love of Him, to Him, and for Him.
So, what’s the difference? It is exactly this: We must love the Lord first! Love God first with our whole heart. All the commandments follow because of, and not instead of our love for God.
“Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus said to them, ‘you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Jesus
