GIVING AND FORGIVING #4

Love is the answer for our inability and cold-hearts in approaching, understanding and practicing the fast and the fasted life-style. “Love is the greatest” of these three (faith, hope and love) and belongs exactly where it is placed, with fasting. Fasting produces hunger both in the physical and the spiritual. It is only love that will drive our desires to enough purification to want fasting. To fast is to rest. Love brings rest.

The fasted life-style is to do without so much of our pleasures, hobbies, foods, television, computers, games, sports, work, money, time, and give that ‘giving-up’ to the suffering and lost people of our world. Only love can do such things. Only love is designed for such kingdom thinking and motivation.

Faith is the act of believing and responding to giving.

Hope is the choice of giving prayer.

Love is the greatest and most different because it demands out of the fast that we give to others.

Love is the forgiveness of not giving ourselves to the fast and to the fasted life-style. Love is the fast of heaven when the Father went without the Son to display the awesome love of His fasting heart of giving. Now the Father and Son are fasting for the Holy Spirit who has stayed behind to keep us from being orphans. The fast is our heavenly love in action on earth.

Giving and forgiving…two sides of one thing.
