TWO CREATIONS #1

Sometimes in prayer I feel like I am trying to get to the sea so I can sail away. It is as though I am off to look for another world, another creation, in another place. I am like a little just-hatched turtle that struggles through the sandy beach to get to the ocean and find a new world, just like on Animal Planet. I have no doubt that there is such a place, or places, but they are not of this realm. Until something very new appears again in history I will need to content myself with what new creations the Lord has done thus far.

There are two creations in history that are the basis of my understanding. The first creation is called ‘the beginning’ and is known as the origin, or Genesis. Little is really known about this event. The book of Genesis says, ‘in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.’ This is called ‘the beginning.’ Before ‘the beginning’ all things were ‘eternity,’ meaning without beginning or end, everlasting and endless and unvarying. Eternal means immortal, or not given to death, as death represents time and end of time. Eternity is without time and creation signifies the beginning of time as measured by duration. So, creation must mean ‘the beginning of time’ which follows eternity.

“For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.” Jesus
