THE FUTURE #5
What our future will be, for the most part, is left in mystery. We cannot know what ‘glorified bodies’ do because we are yet to be glorified. Our concern must be for the here and now and the responsibility and joy of bringing kingdom life and dynamic to as many as possible by imitating the Master.
It is vain and useless and guessing to try and be ‘future’ while still here in the ‘present.’ Jesus clearly said, “No one knows the day or the hour” of the End of the Age except the Father. Everyone else is just supposing and speculating. We are not taught by Jesus to speculate on the future of ‘heaven,’ or the ‘new Jerusalem,’ or even ‘the new heaven and new earth,’ but to live in such a way of love as to live forever. This makes us emulate Him in the inseparable state of being united with Him in the human and the divine. His approach was to love and serve mankind with wholeness of healing, compassion, and salvation. This is present life and will be future life as our response to loving and worshipping God. Only love is capable of overcoming death. Nothing else can or will or has. Our future is our present. Loving and serving as the Lover and Server Himself has taught us.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Jesus
