IGNORE IT
One of the ways to deal with problems or difficult issues is to ignore them. Unfortunately they do not go away but come back with all their big brothers and sisters. Often, in spite of our confused relationship with reality, even our earnestness, we find it easy to sweep the unpleasant things we need to deal with under the rug. Out of sight—out of mind.
Betty Williams (Irish Peace Activist, Nobel Prize 1976) wrote, “There’s no use talking about the problem unless you talk about the solution.”
Perhaps this is the major reason for ignoring problems… we do not have, or know of, a solution; or feel we don’t know who to ask about solutions. This has caused most of us frustration at times. We can ignore problems until we decide to do something about them. This usually involves asking someone else for counsel. Not many like this idea either… so we wallow in ‘I don’t know’ or try to find someone who does know, or just continue to ignore them. That seems to be the options.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is it’s own trouble.” Jesus
