BRAVERY #1

A few years back I was under conviction in meditation to ask the Lord for Bravery. This is what I recorded:

Faith and bravery are not the same. Faith is what I believe, or am trying to believe. Bravery is having the courage to openly put faith into action. Bravery is the ability to go all-out in what I have determined is true and important. In some ways it is relatively easy ‘to believe’ something and give an agreeing nod to what we say we believe. To be brave is to stand up, with eyes clear and leveled, with the mind and spirit fixed, with body poised, and regardless of circumstances, to keep standing.
So, Lord, I pray to be brave;
Brave enough to believe in your mercy.
Brave enough to give up everything without believing if I do I will have nothing.
Brave enough to allow silence to define me, instead of words.
Brave enough to love when no returned love is guaranteed.
Brave enough to cry out for peace when others cry out for war.
Brave enough to be prophetic.
Brave enough to ask for poverty of spirit, or any other phrase with the term poverty in it.
Brave enough to believe ‘that the kingdom of Christ does not depend on worldly power.’
Brave enough to give instructions.
Brave enough to receive instructions.
