WORKING FROM FAITH
We seem to either work out of faith or sweat out of unbelief. My friend Bruce once told me, “Self-preservation is unbelief but looks like faith.”
Working from faith often means working (living) without the props of adequate money, time, help, counsel or accommodations. I find it can take little faith with all these amenities. As Bruce says, ‘this self-preservation is unbelief’ because I really don’t need much faith when all my needs and resources are evident to me.
Waiting to do the work of the Kingdom when we have the resources only looks like faith. We must remember as well that God’s past provision generates faith for the present need.
“What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.” Jesus
