CYCLES OF CHANGE

The world goes through cycles of change and right now the world is basically pagan again. It is as though we need to be back in the book of Acts with a new message ‘for a confused world.’ It is the same now. We need to be back in the times of the little gospel communities who are ready to repeat the message of salvation to any who will hear. This would be a return to the original apostolic times. We would be like the first Christians at Pentecost having been changed by the gospel of the kingdom and are ready to spread out into the pagan world with the ‘good news of good things.’

A new era must begin. This new time is as old as Pentecost. It consists of a generation who desires to go to people in love and service and out of such sharing to form community, little gospel communities. This requires at this very hour that the apostolic results we want will need to have apostolic foundations. Apostles and prophets need to now arise into the lowly and humble work of taking groups of people and equipping them to serve. This will be like leaven in the rising loaf, no one will see or know it has happened until the risen loaf is seen. The risen loaf is resurrection power. We are not trying to follow Christ in our culture; we are following him in our faith. Regardless of the culture we respond with our faith in the risen Lord. We cannot respond by what culture dictates but by what faith demands. We determine to speak “nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” The culture can, and will change, but our faith, never. What we must see is that our message remains tethered to our faith and not to our culture.
