NEW SEEMS OLD

In the past few years I have visited several places and tried to take careful notice of what I saw and heard. These are some of my conclusions:

The ‘Enchanted People’ were not as enchanted as I thought they would be.

The ‘Free People’ were not as free as I supposed them to be.

The ‘One World” people were not as ‘one’ as they appeared to be.

The ‘Green People’ were not as green as I believed they would be.

The “New Earth’ people were not as new as I was thinking they would be.

The ‘Ecologically Savvy” people were not as savvy or ecological as I reasoned they would be.

The “Christian People’ were not nearly as Christ-like as I assumed they might be.

The ‘New Age” people seemed rather old and aged as I listened to them.

“What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun,” said Solomon in The Book of Ecclesiastes.

There is only newness of life in Jesus.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Jesus
