THINGS CHANGE
Times are changing. They always do but we easily can miss a lot of changes because we might be oblivious to them or don’t want them. The changes are in culture and social view, customs, habits, and behaviors. With global influence and connections the world is not only changing, but also becoming much smaller. Technology changes our patterns and ways of doing things, especially communication. Changes have the distinct ability, though seldom seen or noticed, to gradually cause a certain kind of instability in people. This is certainly true for the generation that is looking back at the one following them. The one following them looks back at their children with the same fear and concern. Even politics is causing this fear because it is blaming instead of solving and winning instead of governing.
Every generation builds something and some build much more than others. The current generation is not builders, but consumers, renters and users. There are positive things about this, namely not to use all of ones resources for brick and mortar. Few are still stable enough for brick and mortar. But in the consumer society what we want to see is the building of character, relationships, and personal desire for developing dignity. Change comes when any generation gives their resources and energy for building something positive to influence their culture and to influence and direct the next generation. It does not have to be brick and mortar but it has to be as strong and as true. Satan loves to take away thoughts of hope. The devil can go to hell.
“Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things that are new and fresh and things that are old and familiar.” Jesus
