SO BE IT
God says, ‘Amen’ and then does something. We do something and then say, ‘Amen.’ There is great power on the earth when our ‘Amens’ meet.
Amen is an exclamation uttered at the end of a prayer or hymn, meaning ‘so be it.’ It is used to express agreement or assent.
‘So be it’ is a way to best express our desire for affirmation of what has been said, sung, prayed, prophesied or spoken in tongues. It seems one of the very best places for amen is the affirmation after the reading of scriptures either by us personally and alone or with others corporately. I am trying to make it a habit as I finish reading the Word to say quietly or openly: Amen.
I think I need to get used to saying, ‘So be it’ to scripture because it will be whether I say so or not… so I should just go ahead and agree.
“I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Jesus
