WORKING QUIETLY
Paul, an apostle, wrote to the Galatian church: “Each person should judge his own actions and not compare himself with others. Then he can be proud for what he himself has done. Each person must be responsible for himself.” (6:4-5)
James, an apostle, wrote: “And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” (4:6-8)
Proverbs tells of working quietly: “Don’t praise yourself. Let someone else do it. Let the praise come from a stranger and not from your own mouth.” (27:2)
Perhaps one of the best lines I have heard on this:
‘Work hard in silence. Let success be your noise.’
“So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Jesus
