THE ONLY ONE FOR EVERYONE
Golden Corral Restaurant’s ad has the slogan of ‘the only one for everyone.’ That’s a pretty bold claim until a person looks down the line of what they call their ‘endless buffet’ for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many choices of food and nearly everyone could surely find something they like to eat.
The only one for everyone line kind of hooked me when I read it and reminded me of statements by Paul, an apostle. In Galatians 3:26-28:
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.” The only one for everyone.
Again, by Paul: “Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles,] some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)
The only one for everyone.
One more by Paul: “Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.”
(Colossians 3:10-11) The only one for everyone.
I‘m wondering if the Corral got their inspiration from the Apostle: The only one for everyone.
“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.” Jesus
