THE CHECKERED FLAG
Recently in a dream I saw myself in a large gathering and we were expressing open and free Worship (the kind I enjoy most of all). There was a worship team and many people dancing in the Spirit, openly singing and prophesying, there were drums, tambourines, horns, hands were raised and some folks were facedown on the floor, some were weeping and some shouting. There were various banners and flags being lifted and carried around the room. I was carrying my Checkered Flag and waving it boldly.
The Checkered Flag (usually black and white checks) is used in auto racing to indicate that a race is finished and there is an official winner of the race. It has come to represent victory in racing and many other areas.
I was at a meeting one time in Brownsville, TX and the worship was much as I described above. I was in the back of the building by the sound booth and a brother was waving a Checkered Flag and dancing and said, “We have victory in Jesus!” He offered the flag to me and I started dancing as well. He went to the booth and got another flag and started dancing with me. When the meeting ended he gave me the Checkered Flag and I put it in my briefcase and I have used it many times. It is 24”x24” and I treasure this symbolic flag. I have carried this Checkered Flag in my briefcase for many years everywhere I go.
When I was awake from my dream the other night, I got out my flag and waved it vigorously while saying, “We have victory in Jesus!”
“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! “
(1 Corinthians 9:24)
“And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.” Jesus
