STRONGHOLDS
Stronghold: this word came to me 29 July 2020… “whether we have a ‘stronghold’ in the negative or in the positive…it is a stronghold and strongholds are strong and have a hold.” It takes this kind straight out logic for me to get it sometimes.
Negative strongholds can be many things: eating habits, anger and explosive temper, addictions to various things, religious spirit, etc. The list can get long and ugly, discouraging and difficult.
Paul, an apostle, wrote, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds), casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God…” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 ASV)
A positive stronghold is our faith to believe that no matter what our stronghold or situation there is a Father that holds us tightly and firmly and will not let us loose. Jesus said, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” That is a hold that is strong…a stronghold.
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalms 18:2)
“The Lord is good; a stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.”
(Nahum 1:7)
“This is the will of Him who sent me, that of all that He has given me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.” Jesus
