SOONER OR LATER
Seth Godin writes, “Eventually, snow melts. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t value in shoveling someone’s walk. Most things will get addressed sooner or later. What happens if you take the side of sooner? The naysayers will share plenty of reasons not to stick your neck out. There are good reasons to ignore those skeptics: Because it matters. Because we need your leadership. Because now is better than later.”
Sooner or later is often just a way to escape responsibility. If we know what to do and don’t do it because eventually someone else will, that is not only being lazy, it also lacks courage.
The scriptures tell us that, “Today is the day of salvation,” and ‘today’ is the day for good works, strength, discernment and action as well. Today our leadership is needed; today we make a difference, today matters. Sooner or later is also wishy-washy. Take the side of sooner.
“We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” Jesus
