REDEMPTION
When things seem to be a little upside down and out of sync it is often the poets, prophets, songwriters, artists, old quiet people, tattoo artists and graffiti tags, people who work in tire shops and truck stops, Bluegrass musicians, hair salons, bars, night shifts at Denny’s, barbershops, coffee baristas and private security people that give us indicators.
Toni Morrison (1931-2019) author, wrote,
“This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.”
This is also how the Gospel of the Kingdom goes forward: “no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language.” What else can we do? Press on. Find a messenger. Find the Message.
“Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Jesus
