OUR ONLY LASTING HOPE
Cole Feix, Oklahoma City pastor and author wrote, “Between the racial unrest and the sexual anarchy in our country, there’s a common thread. Rebelling against what God has ordained never leads to God’s designs. Sin only begets suffering and death, even if it’s covered in the veneer of short-term pleasure. We have to remember that it is better to be right with God than right with the world, no matter how unpopular that makes us. And whether or not we enjoy the rights and privileges we have in the United States for a few more years or forever, it does not change our commitment to the truth.
To the watching world, our witness is this: the truth will set you free. Political power can be good, but it has no power to atone. Racism is a grievous sin, but social change without the unity we have in Christ will be short-lived. Nondiscrimination is a human attempt to recreate the love of God without his Lordship. Our allegiance is to the truth, to the work of the Spirit, and to the gospel of Christ. It is the most powerful force in the world and the only lasting source of our hope.”
“But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you of them.” Jesus
