ONE OF TWO THINGS
In thinking about One of Two Things recently, it occurred to me that this term is usually an ‘either…or’ idea. It is one thing or another thing. It is one of two things.
But this is not always the case. When two Christians decide to marry it should truly be with the idea they will be ‘One of Two Things.’ As Jesus taught,
“’This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.” (Matthew 19:5-6)
Other versions read, ‘they are no longer two but one flesh.’ I personally like the strength of that wording better. One flesh of two fleshes…
“Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Jesus
