NOT A PROPHET
Being a weirdo, bitchy, whiney and critical are not discernment or gifts of the Spirit. This is not being prophetic or having a prophecy mantle hanging around your neck. This is usually just an unhappy person giving frustrated opinions. It is often those who ‘don’t like church’ or ‘don’t like government or ‘have no friends’ or ‘have a crappy marriage’ or ‘nobody understands me.’
I think most people do understand this person. When we are this way we are broken and in need of repair or silenced. Nobody needs this stuff. It builds nothing but a pile of pain and confusion. We need healing and health and a word of encouragement. Anybody can spout out the gloom and doom of the News Channels, podcasts and popular blogs. We are called to practice ‘speaking the truth in love’ and building each other up in the faith. I need confidence… not condemnation. I don’t need any quarter inch deep political analysis or eighth inch deep theological solutions formed from Twitter reading.
I need someone to tell me: “You’re OK…you are going to make it.” I don’t need another bitchy prophecy.
“For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.” Jesus
