MOMENTS THAT TRANSFORM US
Dallas Willard (1935-2013) philosopher and author wrote:
“We should expect to have lots of profound, key moments. I don’t want to miss a one of them. I love them, and sometimes when I get to the end of the Lord’s Prayer, having had a wonderful session in it—you can spend hours in it and submerge yourself in it—when I get to the end, I don’t want to say, “Amen”—I want to say, “Whoopee! Thanks be to God! Thine is the Kingdom! Thine is the power! Thine is the glory! Forever!” “Amen” is just a little too mild.
I hope your life is full of “Whoopee!” moments. We should all have them, but they will not transform us. What transforms us is the will to obey Jesus Christ from a life that is one with his resurrected reality day by day, learning obedience through inward transformation.” (From: ‘The Great Omission’)
“Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me.” Jesus
