LOVE AND TRUTH

Edith Stein (1891-1942) a Catholic Nun, wrote:

“Do not accept anything as truth if it lacks love. And, do not accept anything as love if it lacks truth.”

Stein was a German Jew who became a Catholic nun. She had multiple doctorate degrees in philosophy and metaphysics and others. During the Nazi regime she fled Germany to seek refuge in the Netherlands where she and many other Jews were eventually captured. She was arrested and sent to Auschwitz and died in one of Hitler’s gas chambers.

Nothing is truth if it lacks love and nothing is love if it lacks truth.
