JUST IN CASE
I’m still thinking of yesterday’s journal entry ‘To Simplify.’ I wrote: ‘Accumulation is a common trait with the justification being, “you never know when you might need one of those.” Garages, storage units and barns are full to over-flowing with such items and logic.’
I think some of us are just from another time when things were often repaired instead of replaced. When things are repaired one needs various kinds of tools and parts to do the fixing. That means saving screws, bolts, nails, string, wire, various pieces of lumber, glue, paint, sandpaper, PVC pipe and fittings, sprinklers, rags, cement, jig saws, saber saws, circulating saws, table saws, chop saws, hack saws, reciprocating saws, chainsaws and various other saws. You never know when you might need to saw something. So with all kinds of spare materials and all kinds of tools…and saws, we might be able to repair something.
The other option is to go to Home Depot, Harbor Freight, Lowes, Walmart, Ace Hardware or some such place and get a new one. Forget all that; just order it from Amazon and clear out the garage stuff and the replacement will be at our front door tomorrow.
