IF WE SAY

In conversation…
If we say, ‘That’s a good question…’ We are probably giving time to try and find a good answer.

If we say, “I have to be honest with you…” We are probably struggling with honesty and being honest.

If we say… “In my humble opinion…” We are probably struggling with our own humility.

If we say… “Absolutely…” It probably isn’t that absolute.

If we say… “That’s incredible…” It’s probably a good way from incredible.

If we say… “That’s the best I can do…” It for sure usually isn’t.

If we say… “Without a doubt …” It perhaps still holds some doubt.

If we say, “I never…” We probably still do on occasion.

If we say, “Trust me on this one….” We perhaps should not be trusted on that one.

If we say, “I have never seen it fail…” It most likely has failed numerous times.

It just seems that conversation needs filters on it like many other things.

“Say just a simple ‘Yes, I will’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Your word is enough. To strengthen your promise with a vow shows that something is wrong.” Jesus
