GATHERINGS
Most Christians devote dedicated time to a meeting with other Christians. During these meetings (they are called ‘worship services’) there is music, teaching, Sunday school (more teaching) and Children’s Church (more teaching) and then giving of money. The music and singing (called worship) is to simply agree for the most part that God is like our predetermined attributes of God. This is very important however and wherever each one expresses this agreement. Since before the Reformation (16th century) teaching has become the primary purpose of the meeting. The teachings usually also verify and agree on the predetermined attributes of God.
Some places also have small groups (cell groups, home groups) that meet weekly/bi-weekly and often re-hash and teach the teaching that was taught during the teaching time of the past Sunday.
The giving of money is to support the teachers (preachers) and the meeting place where all of this takes place. In the U.S. this is 98% of all monies given to local churches. Only 2% goes outside of its own life and mortgage for any other purposes. This is how it is culturally for the local church.
