CHOICE GIVES OPTIONS

Like so many other things, having the ability to make choices, distinguishes us from all other created things. Animals make choices out of their senses and we make them with our transcendent intellect. Or to put it another way, we can reason, and they cannot. Choice gives options. The major thing all this provides is self-knowledge. We have been given the ability to have self-knowledge by a will that is formed in our conscience. This gives us the power to determine things and make choices. This is often called volition, or volitional will. All of these processes are built into us for one reason: To give us the choice to love. Only humans need this choice. We choose the Father and his Kingdom or we don’t…by choice. It is the only way a relationship can be demonstrated and sustained.
