CHANGING AND CHANGED
We often have to deal with the abstract idea that because one thing is not present the opposite is. Martin Luther King Jr., said “True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it’s the presence of justice.” This may be said several ways; like, real seeing is not just the absence of darkness, it’s the presence of light; real liberty is not only the absence of evil, it is the presence of good; true deliverance is not just the exit of demons, its the presence of the Holy Spirit.
We live in the paradox of always building and replacing what should not be with what should be. This is not some legal formula of rule-keeping performance; rather it is the joy of discovery and enlightenment. It’s the way of a generous God to lead us from what is not the kingdom way and then to keep leading us until we see and understand the kingdom way. True maturity is not merely the absence of the ugly; it is the presence of beauty. We are always in process and being processed.
“Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.” Jesus
