CAVE DWELLERS IIII
There is, however, one more cave. It is the cave of serenity. It is when we find the shelter of a secure cave where we can warm ourselves, feel a cool breeze that ventilates our stress and anxiety, and we can safely sit and rest and nourish ourselves. We sense the strength and power of the stone walls and the natural light filtering down through multiple doors and holes of escape and rescue. It feels complete and secure. The cave surrounds us with comfort like the arms of a parent for a child. We are taken care of and provided for. We are calm, peaceful, and quiet and can then meditate on the goodness and presence of God and write it on the walls of the cave.
“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble he will conceal me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent he will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me; and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord’ (Psalm 27:4-6).
Lord, hide me in You. You are my Cave. You are my dwelling place. Guide us through our caves we pray.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” Jesus
