ARK OF THE COVENANT 6

In the night back on 7 March 2024 I heard this:
‘We are to be the very things that were in the Ark of the Covenant…’ (Continued from last five days)

After the rebellion Korah and his group and the 250 false priests in Numbers 16 were destroyed when the ‘ground split open and ‘swallowed them up’ (16:32) there was a plague on the people that also destroyed about 15,000 others and it would have been more but Moses and Aaron begged the Lord for mercy (16:41-50). The plague was rescinded.

The next scene in Numbers 17 says the Lord spoke to Moses and asked that the head of each of the twelve tribes of Israel bring their staff (rod) which had the leader’s name and tribe inscribed on their individual staff. One of these twelve was Aaron’s rod of the tribe of Levi. The Lord was doing this to stop the murmuring of the people concerning the leadership of Moses and Aaron. “Place these staffs in the Tabernacle in front of the Ark containing the tablets of the Covenant, where I meet with you. Buds will sprout on the staff belonging to the man I choose. Then I will finally put an end to the people’s murmuring and complaining against you.”
(Numbers 17:1-7)

“When he went into the Tabernacle of the Covenant the next day, he found that Aaron’s staff, representing the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, budded, blossomed, and produced ripe almonds!” (v.8) After showing the staffs to the people and seeing the confirmation the Lord told Moses to take Aaron’s staff and put it into the Ark of the Covenant as a sign: “Place Aaron’s staff permanently before the Ark of the Covenant to serve as a warning to rebels.” (17:10)
