ARK OF THE COVENANT 4
In the night back on 7 March 2024 I heard this:
‘We are to be the very things that were in the Ark of the Covenant…’ (Continued from last three days)
“In the New Testament, the Ark is mentioned in the Letter to the Hebrews and the Revelation of John. Hebrews 9:4 states that the Ark contained “the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.” Revelation 11:19 says the prophet saw God’s temple in heaven opened, “and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple.”
The contents of the ark are seen by theologians such as the Church Fathers and Thomas Aquinas as personified by Jesus Christ: the manna as the Holy Eucharist; Aaron’s rod as Jesus’ eternal priestly authority; and the tablets of the Law, as the Lawgiver himself.” (Wikipedia)
Perhaps one of the most memorable things about Aaron’s staff happened in Numbers 17. Just after what is called ‘Korah’s Rebellion’ (Numbers 16) where Korah and two hundred and fifty other leaders rose up against the leadership of Moses and Aaron (16:1-14). They tested Moses and Aaron in front of the whole congregation. “Korah had stirred up the entire community against Moses and Aaron, and they all gathered at the Tabernacle entrance. Then the glorious presence of the Lord appeared to the whole community, and the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Get away from all these people so that I may instantly destroy them!” (Numbers 16:19-20)
This would surely have solved the rebellion to leadership issue. Moses pleaded for the people and just the main three rebels; Korah, Dathan and Abiram and the 250 false priests are singled out for recourse. (Continued)
“If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.” Jesus
