ARK OF THE COVENANT 2
In the night back on 7 March 2024 I heard this:
‘We are to be the very things that were in the Ark of the Covenant…’ (Continued from yesterday)
As I heard this, the manna, the bread of life Jesus, was clear and The Law, the tablets of the covenant, was also easily transposed. Aaron’s staff is what tripped me up. What I remembered was that the text read: ‘Aaron’s staff that budded.’ I started looking back at the scriptures where Aaron’s staff is first mentioned in Exodus 7 as he and Moses are given instructions by the Lord to go to Pharaoh in Egypt to deliver the people and the staffs are a large part of the story. It started by Aaron’s staff turning into a snake and eventually the Egyptian magicians were able to do the same with their staffs and then Aaron’s staff swallowed all of the magician’s staffs/snakes. (Exodus 7:8-13) Next, Aaron used his staff to turn the Nile River into blood (Exodus 7:19-24). Then, it was the plague of frogs by his staff (Exodus 8:5-7). Next was gnats: “Tell Aaron, ‘Raise your staff and strike the ground. The dust will turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.” So Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded them. When Aaron raised his hand and struck the ground with his staff, gnats infested the entire land, covering the Egyptians and their animals. All the dust in the land of Egypt turned into gnats” (Exodus 8:16-18). The plagues of flies, destruction of livestock and boils were levied without the staffs of Moses or Aaron. Moses lifted his staff and started the plague of hail and rain and the plague of locusts (10:13). With the plague of darkness there was no staff. Next, is the Red Sea dividing when Moses raised his hands and staff as the waters opened (Exodus 14:15ff).
The obvious first lessons of Aaron’s staff and the staff of Moses are that they represent and carry great authority, miracles, power, and signs and wonders when used in obedience to the Lord.
“Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus
