FINDING OUR WAY BACK
Sin of various kinds (any kind?) or shame, guilt, rejection, fear and such things that besiege us are like the dusk… it continues to get darker and darker the longer we stay there. The problem is, the darker it gets the harder it is to find our way back.
Finding our way back is a choice. The choice is leaving our situation with as much light as possible for help and hope of illuminating our path to grace, restoration and forgiveness. Trouble is…few of us want to leave while we still have some (any) light to guide us. It just usually seems later is better although it isn’t. Thus we encounter the desperation of finding our way out.
Waiting in darkness is really an assessment of our view of the Father. We become convinced in our shame and doubt that forgiveness is not waiting for us, but instead there will be rejection and punishment of some kind. This view of the Father is not from sonship and belonging… but from an orphan spirit. The light is waiting to dispel our darkness.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus
