GOOD DOG
A man took his new hunting dog out on a trial hunt. Presently he shot a duck that fell into the lake. The dog walked on the water, picked up the duck, and brought it to his master. The man was flabbergasted! He shot another duck. Once again, while he rubbed his eyes in disbelief, the dog walked on the water and retrieved the duck. Hardly daring to believe what he had seen, he called his neighbor for a shoot the next day. Once again, each time he or his neighbor hit a bird, the dog would walk on the water and bring the bird in. The man said nothing. Neither did his neighbor. Finally, unable to contain himself any longer, he blurted out, “Did you notice anything strange about that dog?” The neighbor rubbed his chin pensively. “Yes, he finally said, “Come to think of it, I did! That new dog of yours can’t swim.”
This story reminded me of another.
“That’s a clever dog you have there,” said a man when he saw his friend playing cards with his dog.
“Not as clever as he looks,” was the reply. “Every time he gets a good hand, he wags his tail.”
I’m headed over to the other side of the Pond to have some Cuban Coffee and Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream and hope to walk on the Pond Water myself without looking down or wagging my tail. If not, perhaps Jesus will come walking toward me.
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus
