REACH OUT FOR REPENTANCE
Basilea Schlink (1902-2001) was a German Lutheran religious leader and writer. She was leader of the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary, which she cofounded, from 1947 to 2001. She wrote:
“In His infinite love God has prepared for us a precious gift: repentance. People living in repentance are spiritually richest. They continually experience the love, forgiveness and compassion of God. They have access to His heart and all the blessings of renewal. Those who turn from their sins, not just once, but daily, will experience abundant grace. God has promised grace to contrite, humble hearts—not to those who are self-righteous, overconfident and complacent. Reach out for repentance as something highly desirable. The love of God is holding it ready for you.”
(M. Basilea Schlink, ‘Father of Comfort’)
“Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” Jesus
