THE TREATY OF KNIVES II

(Dream 16 January 2016- See yesterday’s Journal)

“The King brought a beautiful golden sword with inlaid jewels to be the example for the others. The others made or brought beautiful historical knives and swords, which represented their culture and sub-cultures. Many donated family treasured knives and swords, some very old and valuable as well as sentimentally valuable. Each knife and sword was clearly identified with a brass nametag. The fountain was called the Treaty of Knives.

The circular design was so no one would feel that anyone had a better placement in the display than anyone else. However, it soon became apparent that jealousy was developing as to who would have their knife placed closest to the King’s sword and yet others did not want their family swords near those of historically troublesome neighbors from past conflicts and problems. Soon there were threats and accusations and comments such as, “This is not the only knife I own,” and “Our swords have cut you before and can again,” and other ugly comments and threats. The King had to place his elite soldiers around the fountain project and eventually gave up and sent all the knives and swords home to their owners. The King even took his own sword and placed it back in the palace. The beautiful fountain was finished with no knives and swords and was still called The Treaty of Knives. The King believed it might help teach the people for generations by needing to ask, “Why is this fountain called the Treaty of Knives?” There was no party of celebration.” (End of dream)
