BEATITUDE GIFTS
The Kingdom of God is built and functions with the laid-out Beatitudes in the Sermon on the Mount (Mathew 5, Luke 6).
These are perhaps intimidating as possible, normal characteristics for the believer. This usually happens when we try to live this way by formulas, self-determination or perhaps self-flagellation or depreciation. We work hard to become what it written in the list of Beatitudes.
Only the Holy Spirit can equip us to live the Sermon on the Mount Way. And, we have a Father that loves to give gifts to his children. James said: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17).
The ’Father of lights’ wants to make us the ‘light of the world.’ Beatitudes are gifts we ask for from our loving Father who loves to give gifts. We ask for the gift of ‘poor in spirit,’ gift of mourning,’ ‘gentleness,’ ‘being merciful’ and a ‘peacemaker.’
The Holy Spirit wants to deliver Father gifts to us in Jesus’ name. Grace receives them.
“For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus
